I loved going camping at Audubon park near St Francisville. Staying with Little Nanny and Paw-paw at their house on 2nd street in Lake Charles. Christmas time was always great at Grandma's, the Miller Families and Big Nanny's.

Your Favorite Places to Visit in Louisiana
I love Lafayette and Breaux Bridge, going to Cajun and Zydeco dances. Also love hitting the festival scene.

Things you have not done in Louisiana, but would like to
I have been trying to play the Cajun Accordion for about 15 years now. You would think that with that much time passing I would be much better player, but not really enough time to practice like I should.

Your Hurricane Story
We adopted a family of 3 from New Orleans for about 3 1/2 months. Dawn, Marc and Julianne. Marc was a fire fighter recruit (in training) with the New Orleans fire department when Katrina came through. In order to complete all of the recruits training, they moved the training program to Shreveport.
After talking about it with my wife, we decided to post a spare room on one of the message boards. We were already working as volunteers at the Kirsch Coliseum Red Cross shelter in Shreveport. And this was just another way we could help.
I got a call one day from Dawn who had seen the post and after speaking with her and my wife we agreed to host them while Marc was going through his training. We had no idea that we would get along so well. But we did! Marc and Dawn and Tammy and I have become more than friends, after such an experience you honestly feel like family.
They returned to New Orleans when Marc completed his training in Nov 2005. And we visited them last year during the 2006 Jazz Fest.
