Chicken (espicially home grown chicken) and sausage gumbo, boudin, gratons, jambalaya, squirel gravy, deer gravy, crayfish étouffé, fish (cooked any way), blackeye peas, the list is endless. Most of the foods of South Louisiana are good.

 Your Hurricane Story
Hurricane Rita brought us pretty strong winds in Central Evangeline Parish, but didn't do much damage. We were only out of electricity for about 12 hours at our house, but most people in Evangeline Parish were without electricity for a few days. We had nothing compared to the damage and suffering of the people who experienced the full wrath of Katrina and Rita.
